Terms & Conditions
1. The Promoter
The Promoter is OTHERWORLD. Questions can be directed to hello@itsotherworld.com. This competition is conducted solely by the Promoter and is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Professional Beauty, The Intermedia Group, or any social media platform.
2. Eligibility
The competition is open to permanent residents of Australia aged 18 years or over who own, work in, or are training to work in a hair or beauty business.
3. Competition period
Entries close at 11:59pm AEST on 30 September ("Competition Period"). Entries received outside the Competition Period are invalid.
4. How to enter
Entry is free. To enter, visit itsotherworld.com/pages/glossy-giveaway during the Competition Period, complete all required fields, and answer the entry question — "In 25 words or less, tell us what a complete brand would change for your business" — in 25 words or fewer. You must agree to these Terms & Conditions to enter. Limit of one entry per person. Incomplete, duplicate, illegible or automated entries may be disqualified.
5. Judging and winner selection
This is a game of skill. After the close of the Competition Period, entries will be judged by a panel comprising representatives of the Promoter, on the merit of the entrant's answer assessed against the following criteria: clarity (25%), creativity and originality (25%), and how compellingly the answer expresses what a complete brand would mean for the entrant's business (50%). The entry judged best will win. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. In the event of a tie, the tied entries will be re-judged by the panel against the same criteria to determine a single winner.
6. The prize
There is one (1) prize: a complete GLOSSY brandworld (a digital brand identity system for hair and beauty businesses), valued at AUD $405 (recommended retail price). The total prize pool is AUD $405. The prize includes the standard GLOSSY inclusions as described at itsotherworld.com/pages/glossy at the time of the draw. The prize is delivered digitally following the Promoter's standard delivery process. To use the website component of GLOSSY, the winner must have an active Squarespace account; the winner is responsible for meeting any third-party account or software requirements. The prize is not transferable, not exchangeable and not redeemable for cash. If the prize (or any part of it) becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any applicable laws.
7. Winner notification and claiming the prize
The winner will be notified by email to the address provided at entry within seven (7) days of judging. The winner must respond to claim the prize within fourteen (14) days of being notified. If the winner does not respond within that period, cannot be contacted, or is found to be ineligible, the Promoter reserves the right to forfeit that entrant's prize and select the next-best eligible entry as judged under clause 5, and this process may be repeated as necessary.
8. Case study and publicity consent
The winner agrees, as a condition of accepting the prize, that the Promoter may document and use the winner's implementation of GLOSSY — including the resulting brand, "before and after" materials, the winner's name, business name, location, images of their branded business and assets, and any statements or testimonials they provide — as a case study and in the Promoter's marketing, promotional and editorial materials, across any media now known or later devised, worldwide, on an ongoing basis and without further notice or payment. The winner agrees to reasonably participate in the creation of such a case study (for example, by providing information, images and a short testimonial) and, if requested by the Promoter, to sign a separate written release confirming this consent. This clause survives the end of the competition.
9. Entries and intellectual property
By entering, you warrant that your entry is your own original work and does not infringe the rights of any third party. You grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce and publish your entry (including your answer, first name and business name) for promotional purposes in any media, without further compensation.
10. Privacy
The Promoter collects entrants' personal information to conduct this competition (including running the judging, notifying the winner and, where required, publishing the winner's details). Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Promoter's Privacy Policy at [privacy policy URL]. We will not use your information for marketing purposes unless you have separately opted in to receive marketing communications. Information may be disclosed to our service providers for the purposes of running the competition. You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting hello@itsotherworld.com.
11. Winner's name
The winner's first name, business name and state may be published on the Promoter's website and social media channels for a reasonable period following the competition. By entering, you consent to this publication if you are the winner.
12. General
The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, misdirected, corrupted or not received due to technical failure or any cause beyond its reasonable control. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions, or engages in conduct that is fraudulent or damaging to the competition. If the competition cannot be conducted as planned due to causes beyond the Promoter's reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to modify, suspend or cancel the competition. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of NSW and entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that place.
